ASTEROID MISSION BRAZIL - MISSION 1
NASA's first asteroid sampling mission was launched into space from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, beginning a journey that could revolutionize our understanding of the early solar system. The "Asteroid Mission" program is inspired by NASA's OSIRIS-Rex mission that now crosses the space into the asteroid BENNU with the goal of studying the asteroid and collecting samples from its surface.
Students ages 9 to 14 in Brazil are being given the opportunity to study and apply STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts as well as robotics and programming in a replica of the surface of an Asteroid. The program includes having various obstacles and missions to be completed. The Asteroid Mission is guided by instructors trained in the United States.
